Strategy Raises $333.7M but Buys No Bitcoin
Strategy raised $333.7 million through the sale of common stock last week, but the Bitcoin treasury company did not purchase any additional BTC during the period.
The company, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, kept its Bitcoin holdings unchanged at 840,447 BTC while directing a significant portion of the newly raised capital toward its preferred-stock program and cash reserves.
According to Strategy’s latest filing, the company sold approximately 3.46 million shares of common stock during the week ended Aug. 16.
Strategy Holds 840,447 Bitcoin
Strategy did not buy or sell Bitcoin during the latest reporting period.
Its Bitcoin holdings therefore remained at 840,447 BTC, which the company acquired for approximately $63.36 billion, including fees and expenses.
That puts the company's average purchase price at approximately $75,385 per Bitcoin.
With BTC trading near $63,500, Strategy's current market price remains below its aggregate average acquisition cost, highlighting the company's continued exposure to Bitcoin price movements.

$333.7M Raised Through MSTR Stock Sales
Strategy generated $333.7 million by selling 3.46 million shares of its common stock.
Rather than using the proceeds to increase its Bitcoin position, the company allocated the capital across several financial priorities.
The largest allocation after the stock sale was directed toward repurchasing its STRC preferred stock.
Strategy Repurchases $132.2M of STRC
Strategy used approximately $132.2 million of the proceeds to repurchase 1,388,720 shares of STRC, its variable-rate preferred stock.
The company also allocated approximately $52.4 million toward STRC dividend payments.
Following the transactions, Strategy still has approximately $653 million available under its preferred-stock repurchase program.
The repurchases form part of the company's broader capital-management strategy as it balances Bitcoin exposure with its preferred-stock and debt obligations.
Dollar Reserve Climbs to $4.8B
Strategy also added approximately $150 million to its U.S. dollar reserve.
The reserve stood at approximately $4.80 billion as of Aug. 16, according to the company.
Strategy said the reserve is designed to support dividend payments on its preferred stock and interest payments on outstanding debt.
The company said the additional cash increased the duration of its U.S. dollar reserve to approximately 2.8 years.

More Capital Remains Available
Strategy continues to have significant capacity under its existing capital programs.
Following the latest transactions, the company had approximately $653 million remaining under its preferred-stock repurchase program and another $1 billion available under its MSTR common-stock repurchase program.
That gives Strategy additional flexibility to manage its capital structure without immediately adding to its Bitcoin holdings.
Bitcoin Holdings Remain the Key Focus
Strategy's decision not to purchase Bitcoin last week comes as BTC continues to trade below the company's reported average acquisition price.
The company has historically used capital markets to raise funds that can be deployed toward Bitcoin purchases, making its weekly treasury updates closely watched by crypto investors.
However, the latest update shows a different priority: preserving liquidity and managing preferred-stock obligations rather than increasing its Bitcoin position.
The move does not necessarily indicate a change in Strategy's long-term Bitcoin strategy. Instead, the company is using newly raised capital to strengthen its dollar reserve and manage its preferred-stock obligations.
MSTR Shares Rise as Bitcoin Recovers
Strategy shares rose approximately 1.3% in premarket trading following the announcement.
Bitcoin also gained more than 1% over the preceding 24 hours, trading near $63,500 at the time of the report.
The combination of a stronger BTC price and Strategy's expanded cash position could provide some near-term support for investor sentiment around the company.
Conclusion
Strategy raised $333.7 million last week but did not add to its Bitcoin holdings.
Instead, the company used the proceeds to repurchase $132.2 million of STRC, fund $52.4 million in dividends and add approximately $150 million to its U.S. dollar reserve.
With 840,447 BTC still on its balance sheet and a $4.8 billion cash reserve, Strategy continues to maintain substantial Bitcoin exposure while building additional liquidity to meet its preferred-stock and debt obligations.
