World Liberty Financial Acquires Millions in ETH, LINK, and AAVE Amid Surging Prices

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) project linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump, has made headlines with a multi-million-dollar acquisition of Ethereum (ETH), Chainlink (LINK), and Aave (AAVE). The transactions, funded by USD Coin (USDC), have contributed to a significant surge in the value of these altcoins, highlighting the growing influence of institutional investors in the crypto market.
Massive Crypto Purchases Trigger Price Surges
According to Etherscan data on December 12, WLFI acquired over 2,631 ETH for $10 million USDC, purchasing the cryptocurrency at an average price of $3,801. Following this acquisition, Ether's price surged 2.36% within an hour and recorded a daily increase of 6.86%.
The project also purchased 41,335 LINK for $1 million USDC at an average price of $24.20. Chainlink's value subsequently jumped by 20.56% to $26.72 in a single day. Similarly, WLFI acquired 3,357 AAVE tokens, spending another $1 million USDC at an average price of $297 per token.
These strategic acquisitions occurred against a backdrop of increasing institutional interest in blockchain technology and decentralized finance, cementing WLFI's position as a key player in the evolving crypto space.
Justin Sun Joins WLFI as Advisor
The acquisitions coincided with a major announcement from Tron founder Justin Sun, who declared a $30 million investment in World Liberty Financial. Sun, a prominent figure in the crypto industry, shared his enthusiasm on social media, writing:
“We are thrilled to invest $30 million in World Liberty Financial @worldlibertyfi as its largest investor. The U.S. is becoming the blockchain hub, and Bitcoin owes it to @realDonaldTrump! TRON is committed to making America great again and leading innovation. Let’s go.”
Following the funding news, Sun joined WLFI as an advisor. The company acknowledged his addition in a post on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that his expertise would play a pivotal role in driving innovation and scaling their operations.
A Strategic Move Amid Growing Blockchain Adoption
WLFI’s bold investment strategy signals the increasing mainstream acceptance of decentralized finance and blockchain technology. The United States is positioning itself as a global leader in the sector, with high-profile endorsements and investments further solidifying its stance.
Justin Sun's involvement as both an investor and advisor underscores the potential of WLFI to become a major force in the DeFi space. The company’s aggressive acquisition of ETH, LINK, and AAVE showcases its commitment to leveraging top-tier blockchain projects to advance its financial ecosystem.
As the crypto market reacts to these developments, industry observers are closely monitoring WLFI’s next moves. This latest wave of acquisitions not only demonstrates the project’s financial might but also its intention to reshape the DeFi landscape through strategic investments and innovative partnerships.
