Currently, users must download and use specific "privacy wallets" to make private transfers on Ethereum, a process that adds inconvenience and deters many from adopting privacy-enhancing solutions.


“Private transfers need to be integrated directly into wallets,” Buterin stated. He suggested that one solution would be for wallets to store a portion of a user’s assets as a “private balance,” within a privacy pool, which could then be used for private transfers.
