Scroll Partners with Cysic to Enhance Ethereum Scaling with ZK Technology

Ethereum layer-2 blockchain Scroll has announced a partnership with Cysic Network to integrate zero-knowledge (ZK) computing power, aiming to accelerate the scaling of Ethereum.
As Scroll continues to evolve, the collaboration with Cysic Network—a provider of zero-knowledge proof technology—promises to enhance efficiency and speed for Ethereum transactions. According to a press release, Cysic is developing two hardware products, ZK Air and ZK Pro, scheduled for release in 2025. These products are designed to handle high transaction volumes without sacrificing performance or security, with a focus on supporting Scroll’s latest proving techniques.
Sandy Peng, Co-Founder of Scroll, emphasized that the integration of Cysic’s ZK proof technology will provide developers with a robust infrastructure and ensure users enjoy a fast and secure on-chain experience. "By continuously enhancing our technology stack, we’ve found that Cysic significantly boosts our capacity for the highest throughput and fastest finality among all ZK rollups," Peng stated.
As the Ethereum layer-2 ecosystem expands, the volume of transactions has increased, leading to congestion on the Ethereum mainnet. This congestion can create bottlenecks, increase latency, and drive up costs, all of which can impede the optimal functioning of layer-2 blockchains during periods of high traffic.
Recognizing this challenge, Scroll aims to adopt scaling solutions that can manage growing traffic while maintaining performance and reliability.
Leo Fan, Co-Founder of Cysic, noted that ZK technology is crucial for addressing the evolving demands of the blockchain ecosystem. He believes that the partnership with Scroll can enhance both the speed and quality of Ethereum scaling. "By reducing ZK proof generation times from hours to minutes with our GPU servers, we’re not only speeding up layer-2 scaling but also laying the foundation for future blockchain innovations," Fan explained.
Cysic is developing two key products: ZK Air, a portable solution for accelerating ZK proof generation across various environments, and ZK Pro, which resembles traditional mining rigs and focuses on large-scale applications.
In October 2023, Scroll launched its Ethereum mainnet, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs to significantly improve transaction speeds and reduce costs. By integrating ZK proofs, Scroll aims to alleviate network bottlenecks and enhance user experience.
