Polygon-Powered Web3 Game Chainers Announces Closed Playtest for Multiplayer Shooter Mode

Polygon-Powered Web3 Game Chainers Announces Closed Playtest for Multiplayer Shooter Mode

Chainers, a free-to-play web3 video game powered by Polygon, is gearing up for its closed playtest, offering players the chance to experience its multiplayer shooter mode, Chainers Arena. The playtest will run from December 5 to December 6, providing selected participants with an opportunity to test out the new mode, give feedback, and earn rewards in NFTs and CFB tokens.

The game, which combines blockchain technology with familiar gaming mechanics, has gained attention for its unique approach to web3 gaming. Chainers.io, the platform behind the game, has already distributed over 25 million NFTs and boasts a growing community of more than 350,000 players. The game’s Minecraft-style MMORPG environment features its own sidechain, powered by Polygon, making it a standout in the web3 gaming space.

Introducing Chainers Arena: A New Multiplayer Shooter Experience

The closed playtest will focus on Chainers Arena, the first multiplayer shooter within the Chainers ecosystem. Designed to blend tactical gameplay with blockchain elements, the mode is expected to appeal to both competitive gamers and blockchain enthusiasts alike. The developers aim to bring a fresh, competitive edge to the gaming experience by integrating traditional gameplay with web3 rewards.

As players engage in Chainers Arena, they’ll not only compete in battles but also unlock rewards that can influence other aspects of the game, such as the NFT Farm. In the NFT Farm mode, players can cultivate plants to generate FRI, a non-exchangeable in-game token. These resources will soon be usable to enhance performance in the shooter mode, creating a dynamic relationship between the game modes.

Chainers developers emphasize the synergy between different game elements. Resources crafted in the NFT Farm can enhance performance in Chainers Arena, while rewards earned in the Arena can improve farming capabilities. This integration adds layers of depth and strategy, enabling players to explore multiple gameplay styles within a single universe.

Web3 Gaming with a Dynamic Economy

Beyond the gameplay mechanics, Chainers offers a dynamic Web3 economy with an enjoyable Play-to-Earn (P2E) system. Players can earn in-game tokens like FRI and CFB by completing tasks and challenges. Additionally, Chainers rewards players with Polygon POL (formerly MATIC) tokens for completing events in the NFT Farm, which can be withdrawn to self-custodial wallets.

While the game includes earning mechanics, the developers stress that Chainers isn’t just about profit—it’s designed to be an engaging and immersive Web3 experience. The game’s economy aims to balance enjoyment with tokenized rewards, making it appealing to both casual gamers and those looking for blockchain-based incentives.

Looking to the Future of Web3 Gaming

As part of the growing web3 gaming ecosystem, Chainers anticipates significant industry growth in the coming years. Developers project the market will rise from $140.7 billion in 2024 to $226 billion by 2031, driven by advancements in virtual reality, augmented reality, and cross-platform gaming technologies.

After the playtest, participants will be rewarded with an exclusive "Dummy" character skin for providing valuable feedback, as well as 400 CFB tokens based on their activity in the test. The closed playtest is just the beginning—Chainers plans to continue expanding its universe in 2024 and beyond, with new updates featuring crafting systems, resources, and enhanced multiplayer features.

To participate in the closed playtest, interested players can sign up through the Chainers.io registration form. Following the playtest, the development team will continue refining the game, with an official launch scheduled for a later date.

As Chainers continues to evolve, it represents a promising step in the integration of blockchain technology with traditional gaming experiences, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the web3 gaming space.
