Plume Raises $20M Series A to Revolutionize Real-World Asset Finance

Plume, a modular layer-1 blockchain tailored for real-world asset (RWA) finance, has successfully secured $20 million in its Series A funding round. The milestone was achieved with backing from some of the most prominent venture capital firms specializing in blockchain and crypto innovation.

Leading Investors and Strategic Growth

The Series A funding round was spearheaded by Brevan Howard Digital, Haun Ventures, and Galaxy Ventures, signaling strong institutional confidence in Plume’s vision. The funds will fuel the expansion of Plume’s RWA finance ecosystem and drive further development of its unique layer-1 blockchain infrastructure.

Bridging Traditional Finance and Blockchain

Plume’s mission is to bridge the gap between traditional financial assets and the blockchain world, catering to both crypto-native users and institutional players. The platform aims to bring traditional finance on-chain, providing robust support for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and tokenized products.

Expanding RWA Opportunities

Plume is designed to facilitate alternative investment opportunities in sectors like:

  • Carbon Credits: Promoting sustainable finance initiatives.
  • Graphics Processing Units (GPUs): Enabling investment in computational resources.
  • Specialty Finance: Opening new avenues for private financial markets.

Chris Yin, co-founder and CEO of Plume, emphasized the platform’s commitment to transforming the RWA landscape by creating innovative, blockchain-native solutions.

Key Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth

Plume has been rapidly expanding its network through strategic collaborations:

  • Chateau Capital: Partnering with the private asset tokenization platform to tokenize illiquid assets such as pre-IPO shares, hedge fund strategies, and private equity investments. This collaboration is poised to unlock over $500 million in private market opportunities.
  • DigiFT: Joining forces with the regulated RWA exchange in Singapore to onboard institutional-grade assets. This includes offering access to uMINT, a tokenized money market fund by UBS Asset Management.

Robust Investor Backing

In addition to its lead investors, the Series A round drew support from Lightspeed Faction, Hashkey, and Laser Digital, the crypto-focused venture arm of Nomura Group. The latest funding follows a string of successful campaigns, including a $30 million pre-deposit campaign earlier this year, which reached its target in just 90 minutes. Plume also secured $10 million in a seed round in May 2024.

Shaping the Future of RWA Finance

With $20 million in fresh capital, Plume is well-positioned to scale its blockchain infrastructure and expand its RWA finance ecosystem. By integrating traditional financial assets with blockchain technology, Plume is setting the stage for a new era of decentralized finance, making alternative investments accessible to both retail and institutional participants.
