Strategy’s STRC Recovers Above $90

Strategy’s STRC variable-rate preferred shares climbed above $90 for the first time in seven weeks, continuing a strong recovery after a sharp decline in June that raised questions about the company's financial position.

According to Yahoo Finance, STRC closed at $92.32 on Monday, gaining 3.2% from Friday's closing price of $89.46. It marks the first daily close above $90 since June 16.

The preferred shares have now rebounded nearly 24% from their June 26 closing low of $74.57, signaling renewed investor confidence.

How STRC Works

STRC is Strategy's perpetual variable-rate preferred stock, designed to trade close to its $100 stated value.

Unlike traditional preferred shares, STRC's dividend rate can be adjusted every month, helping stabilize its market price around the company's target range of $99 to $100.

Although the latest rally has been significant, the stock remains below that target.

Strategy Strengthens Balance Sheet

The recent recovery follows several financial moves by Strategy aimed at strengthening its balance sheet and supporting STRC.

In its latest Form 8-K filing, the company disclosed that it sold 1,638 Bitcoin (BTC) for approximately $104.7 million.

The proceeds were allocated as follows:

  • $52.4 million used to pay preferred-stock dividends.

  • $52.3 million used to repurchase STRC shares.

The buyback program was designed to improve shareholder value while helping stabilize the preferred stock.

Share Sales Boost Cash Reserves

Alongside its Bitcoin sale, Strategy also raised fresh capital by issuing common stock.

The company generated $290.6 million through MSTR share sales, including:

  • $250 million allocated to its dollar reserve.

  • $28.9 million dedicated to additional STRC repurchases.

Strategy also repurchased 912,143 STRC shares for approximately $81.2 million, while increasing its cash reserve to $4 billion.

These actions demonstrate the company's focus on maintaining liquidity while actively supporting its preferred shares.

Investor Confidence Improves

The rebound in STRC reflects growing confidence in Strategy's financial strategy despite continued volatility in the cryptocurrency market.

By combining Bitcoin treasury management, share repurchases, and capital raising initiatives, the company has reinforced its ability to support shareholder returns while maintaining a strong balance sheet.

Investors will likely continue monitoring STRC's performance as it moves closer to its intended trading range near $100.

Conclusion

Strategy's STRC has staged a notable recovery, climbing more than 24% from its June low and reclaiming the $90 level for the first time in nearly two months.

Supported by strategic Bitcoin sales, share buybacks, and a growing cash reserve, the company continues to strengthen its financial position while working toward stabilizing its preferred stock near its long-term target.
